how cute!
Lately, Patrick has been putting his fingers in his ears. I have no clue where he got it from! His little smile is so precious! He has started attempting to get out of trouble with that smile!

It's getting cool so we had to get out the coat and bibbers to see if they fit

our little vacation
My mom is here for a few weeks, so we're trying to get out and do some fun things. Our latest fun thing was going to Pamukkale, Laodicia, and Aphrodisias. It was only a two day trip, but we had a ton of fun and Landon keeps talking about going back to Pamukkale so he can swim in the warm water again.
We stopped for lunch at this little restaurant that had some balls for the kids

We went to Laodicia (one the 7 churches of Revelation) the first afternoon.

Patrick did a great job walking through all the broken marble and rocks

We started our second day with a great Turkish breakfast at the little B and B where we stayed.

Then we went to Pamukkale and Hieropolis. Pamukkale means 'cotton castle'. The white is formed from calcium carbonate left by the the water when it touches the air. Totally surreal!! Hieropolis is the city connected with Pamukkale (which we didn't get many pics of)

The water is warm like a nice bath

And speaking of bath...you can swim and relax where the Romans did

We ate lunch at a gozleme place (like really flat tortillas with filling - we got some cheese and spinach and a meat one)

After lunch we took a drive to Aphrodisias. It was a little out of our way home, but well worth it. If you've been to Ephesus, it's similar, but with trees and grass everywhere.

We've moved!
We finally made our move to Izmir, Turkey! We've been here about two weeks now. I think it was the hottest part of the summer and we only had one AC working! Moving to the seventh floor is somewhat of a task when they don't like you to use the elevators. The movers use something that looks like a fire truck to get everything up to a balcony of the apartment. Here are a few pics of that.

Next are just a couple pictures of the boys. I bought them a little wading pool to use on the balcony. They love it! (And no one can see them, so we skip the bathing suit part)

the beach
We went to the beach yesterday with some friends. Turks really know how to picnic - it's not just sandwiches and chips! They had a grill, kebabs, salad, macaroni salad, chips, dessert, drinks, everything! We didn't have any, but some people even bring their tea pots to have tea at the beach!!
